Mr. Paul Saich – Principal

Mr. Paul is a graduate of the universities of London and Homerton College, Cambridge. He qualified as a teacher in 1984 and has taught every age group from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 13.

Mr. Paul has been a Head of School in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Poland. He has been a government education adviser in the UK and in Spain.

Mr. Paul is a qualified Cambridge Assessment English teacher trainer. His specialty subjects are English as an Additional Language, History, and Business Studies, where he holds an MBA.

Mr. Paul is a sports enthusiast and holds coaching qualifications in Swimming, Basketball, Canoeing, Football, and Athletics. 

Wendy Simpson – Senior Vice Principal

As the Vice Principal of Diyafah International School, I am both delighted and excited to be able to support your families in preparing our students for future success and the challenges of tomorrow. I work in collaboration with the Principal, staff, students, families and community members. 

Ms. Wendy has led various programmes in schools ranging from Environmental programmes, Behaviour Management programmes, to Gifted and Talented programme and believes in creating a positive learning environment where all students feel enthusiastic about their school experiences. Her goal is that each and every child achieves his or her potential both academically and behaviorally and be given every opportunity to develop 21st Century skills.  She welcomes all parents, students and staff with her message “My doors are always open for you.

Vincent Walters - Vice Principal Secondary

Mr Vincent comes from Wolverhampton in the UK. He was educated and trained in the UK. He completed his teaching degree at the University of Leeds Carnegie and completed his Masters in Education from the University of Essex. His area of specialty is in teaching, learning and staff development.

Prior to joining Diyafah International School Mr Vincent has been a Vice Principal and Head of Secondary. Notably, as a Head of Secondary in Fujairah he had the exciting prospect of establishing a secondary school. His initial experience in the middle east began in 2016 as a Deputy Head in Kuwait. This challenging experience deepened his understanding of work and life in the middle east. Mr Vincent believes in holistic and aspirational pursuits for all student’s, which challenge and guide them to be the best version of themselves so they can contribute to society in a positive way. He advocates that these endeavours are enhanced by developing a symbiotic relationship with parents, local businesses, and universities which benefit students educationally, socially, economically, and culturally. He has used this enthusiasm to promote business enterprise, entrepreneurship, science and engineering fair events, and ICT showcase events for students to be inspired about the wider world.

Mr Walters shares DIS’s educational philosophy, which is steeped in holistic excellence, where a person should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential, ‘For our students the sky is the limit, with the only limitation being the size of their dreams’

Dawn Mitchell -Vice Principal (Head of Primary & Early Years Foundation Stage)

As the new Vice Principal of Primary and Early Years at Diyafah International School, I am delighted to join the Diyafah family and I look forward to working with the students and families‘ Mrs Dawn Mitchell is an experienced and passionate U.K. and international school leader. Notably Head Teacher in the United Kingdom and Vice Principal at an international school in Qatar. Mrs Dawn Mitchell has led many educational initiatives as a leader developing staff and students.
She is passionate that all students reach their full potential in a caring school environment where eager young minds are encouraged to approach life with a sense of confidence, curiosity and joy.
